I've only been a member of Farrell's for a very short time. I joined when I saw just how much my wife loved the workouts, comradery and most importantly the results. Farrell's has already changed the way I view strength training, so much that I no longer have a leg day at the gym. I fell in love with weightlifting in the summer before my 9th grade year. To that point, I had played football for 6 years on the local youth teams, but now I was about to start playing high school football and I wanted to be ready so I started going into the high school weight room primarily it was to improve my sport performance but soon grew into a passion. For all 4 years of high school you would find me in that gym at least 4 days per week. Back in those days our school did not have trainer so my only means of leaning exercises was from Muscle Fitness Magazine and to watch some of the Varsity players lift and I immediately thought that the first way I learned how to do an exercise it was the only way to do that lift and boy was I wrong and many of my joints can vouch for that.

I did continue to lift on and off for the next 20 years but life took over. I made the decision about 4 years ago to get back into the gym and I've been very consistent for that time and now that I'm older (oops scratch that, more mature) I've learned to realize that my body doesn't heal like it used to which is why I am passionate about using correct form, proper technique, and injury prevention. This has completely changed the way I lift weights now, I now longer throw heavy weights around, I back the weight off, focus on form and squeezing the muscle at the top/bottom of every rep. My advice to many young people just beginning their lifting journey is focus on form and the weight will follow. As a new Farrell's Instructor, I want to share my enthusiasm, encourage a happier lifestyle, and help you realize what your body is capable of. I believe that with the right training program, a bit of determination and support, anyone can achieve their goals.
