My fitness journey with Farrell's started in January of 2022. I was a relatively active kid growing up, exercising and training regularly as a competitive dancer. Physical activity came to an abrupt stop, however, when I started college. I didn't know how to workout independently, and when supplemented with poor nutrition, inconsistent sleep, and academic stress, the lack of activity definitely affected my physical and mental health. After years of bad habits, and with my next chapter as a post-graduate adult around the corner, I decided to make a change during my last semester of college. To reprioritize my health, I knew that I needed to find a form of exercise that I found fun and rewarding. I also missed the sense of community and coaching that came with being a part of a sports team, so I thought a group fitness environment could be a good fit for me. I had always wanted to try kickboxing, so I signed up for a class at Farrell's NOLO, a couple weeks into their winter 10-week challenge. I left that class on such a high; I felt so motivated by the people boxing around me, encouraged by the instructor, challenged by the workout, and proud of myself for giving it my all. 

Since that very first class, Farrell's has continued to be a source of motivation, encouragement, challenge, and pride for me. Kickboxing and strength training have become a staple in my life, and I have experienced many changes to my muscle development and physique, cardiovascular health, overall energy level, and stress management since. As an instructor, I strive to bring a cheerful energy and can-do attitude to each class, just as Farrell's has given me. It's amazing to see members reach their goals, and I hope to be a source of guidance and support in that process. See you on the mats!
